Welcome to Total Tag Rugby
East Midlands #1 for Tag Rugby for Children aged 2 to 11
Total Tag Rugby coaches non-contact rugby to children between the ages of 2 and 11.
Operating in nurseries, schools and directly to the public, the aim of Total Tag Rugby is to introduce children to the wonderful sport of rugby whilst helping to address the worrying trend in child obesity levels.
Our Tag Tots programme focuses on developing a child’s motor and social skills by playing rugby specific games in a safe and fun environment. All our Tag Tots sessions are held indoors to ensure the fun doesn’t get spoilt by the rain! If you would like more information for your child, or you would like Total Tag Rugby to operate in your nursery, please visit the Tag Tots page for further details.
From the age of 5, our rugby classes move outdoors and we progress to more rugby specific coaching whilst maintaining Total Tag Rugby’s core values of fun, inclusiveness and safety. Public sessions take place every Saturday morning during school term time. More details can be found on the Total Tag Saturday Clubs page.
Total Tag Rugby offers various services to primary schools, including after school clubs and PPA cover. For more details, please visit the Total Tag Rugby Schools page.

What is tag rugby?
Tag Rugby is a safe, fun and exciting form of non-contact rugby suitable for both boys and girls of all age groups and abilities.
There are no scrums, line-outs or tackling allowed in TAG Rugby and the game can be played and enjoyed by both beginners and experienced players alike.
Tackles are completed by removing Velcro Tags from the ball carrier instead of physical contact. It is played by a reduced number of players on a smaller pitch for a reduced time, allowing participants to focus on the basic core skills of handling and running.
It is widely used by Under 7 and Under 8 groups at clubs as the RFU's official introduction to rugby. It is becoming an increasingly popular game for adults too, in its own right or as a coaching tool that encourages running into space and effective support play.
